How BioDep Works

Biomolecules and pharmaceuticals are passed through a cold atmospheric plasma, and subsequently bonded to the desired surface. This can avoid the need for lengthy wet chemical processes and the use of polymer binders.

Stable, Repeatable, and Economical Surface Coatings for Life Sciences:
Theradep is a technology-driven company specializing in proprietary Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) deposition of bio-compound on various surfaces or substrates. It is a next-generation surface coating process originally developed and validated in the demanding field of implantable medical devices. Our CAP platform has recently demonstrated consistent performance under stringent biocompatibility, adhesion, and sterility standards, and is now being adapted to serve the broader life sciences and laboratory consumables markets.
Proven Technology, Reimagined for Consumables:
Building on a legacy of precision and reliability in the medical device sector, Theradep has successfully engineered its CAP process to meet the unique requirements of life sciences consumables, particularly microplates, slides, tubes, and lab-on-chip systems. Our coatings enhance surface properties such as wettability, biomolecule immobilization, and signal clarity—without compromising material integrity or assay performance.
Why Clients Trust Theradep:
* Quantified Performance: CAP-coated surfaces demonstrate superior adhesion uniformity, chemical stability, and reproducibility across large batch runs. · * Collaborative R&D: We work with academic labs and commercial partners to co-develop and validate coating solutions tailored to specific assay or device needs.
* Scalable Solutions: From R&D prototypes to full-scale production, our process is modular and adaptable to a variety of polymer and glass substrates.
* Proprietary Advantage: Our patented CAP process offers clients access to a coating method not available elsewhere, with the option of exclusiveness in specific applications.
* Regulatory Track Record: Our technology has been implemented in FDA-regulated and ISO 13485-compliant medical device manufacturing environments. Theradep operates under rigorous quality control and documentation systems compatible with GMP and ISO 9001 environments.
Theradep offers multiple pathways to meet your operational needs:
* Evaluation Samples Available: We are pleased to provide complimentary samples of bio-coated materials on your choice of substrate for preliminary testing and performance evaluation.
* On-Site production and Instrumentation: We can supply and install our CAP deposition automated systems at your facility, complete with training, validation, and ongoing technical support.
* Turnkey Coated Products:
We collaborate with qualified injection molding and coating partners to deliver custom or fully finished bio-coated microplates and related consumables, tailored to your exact specifications.
* License of technology:
We are open to licensing Theradep CAP coating technology, with options for exclusivity by application, industry sector, or territory. Agreements can include per-part fees, minimum quantity commitments, and defined terms to ensure mutual value and long-term alignment.
Partnering for Innovation:
We support clients at every stage—from feasibility assessments and prototype development to validation studies and commercial production. Our technical team works closely with partners to ensure seamless integration into existing workflows and compliance with regulatory expectations. Whether you are developing advanced diagnostic assays, high-throughput screening tools, precision medical devices, or pioneering new cell-based studies and therapeutic approaches, Theradep brings a validated, differentiated, cost efficient, and customizable coating technology to help you gain a competitive edge.
