Questions our customers ask us
How is the coating applied and attached to the plate?
Our coating is chemically bonded by the cold plasma.
Do you have to pretreat the plate before the coating?
No, this is not necessary, however it does help to improve the adhesion of some coatings. We are happy to review your specific needs.
So is it possible to coat an untreated plate?
Yes. In fact, we prefer to start with untreated plates.
Do you have comparison information to standard coating solutions?
Yes, we do, and we have shown equivalence to various collagen coatings. We would be happy to set up a call to share this information.
Does the gas heat up the plate?
No.
It looks like a corona treatment, how is it different?
It's a modified corona. We use inert gases (helium or argon) and we use very specific RF fields to create very low energy corona plasma. This provides a treatment with minimal oxidation.
How big is the coating instrument, will it fit on a desktop?
Size depends on volume, but typically it's around 1.2 meters wide, 1.0 meters deep and 2 meters high.
Is it possible to do multi layers of molecules?
Yes, multi layers is an option. Our coating allows for diverse options and ways of coating that may not be achieved with other coating solutions.
It is possible to apply different thicknesses?
Yes. We just change the coating time or the rate at which we pump liquid into the system. The parameters and variables can all be adjusted as needed.
Does it take longer to coat plates with more wells?
No. We can coat 96 wells in the same time span as 1536.
Do you have costing information?
We would be happy to provide a details quotation on request.
Are there drying requirements or any post treatments or procedures to ensure the coating is stable?
For most coatings, drying is not required.
Do you have publications to share?
You can find links to publications and papers on our Technology page. We are constantly working on our data, testing, and creating new reports and papers as we develop our processes for our customers. If you cant find a paper on what you are looking for, please reach out.
